Many have been asking the definition of the HINGE in level 2.
Here it is…

Points for Education

This is our third year for the "Point System" for Texas judges. Judges are able to earn "points" that can be used for the purchase of the Optional and/or Compulsory Code or other educational materials from USAG, or any of the many items from the NAWGJ Library, the NAWGJ uniform, judge certification testing fees, Safety Certification fee, NAWGJ membership, USAG membership, USAG Background check, and Sanctioned Clinic fees including registration, airfare, hotel and gas expenses.

Points are earned in the following way:

  • Each "point" is worth $25.
  • One point earned per session worked at Judges Cup after the first 2 sessions.
  • One point per session judged at Level 7 All-Star Texas Challenge (minimum of 2 points guaranteed).
  • 1 point per session volunteered at National Judges Cup
  • Every Texas NAWGJ professional member (as of Dec 31) will get 2 points (TxNAWGJ has the right to increase or decrease this amount based on financial situation of TxNAWGJ as determined by TxNAWGJ Board.)

Points earned at Judges Cup will be recorded by assigning officials and forwarded to State Judging Director.

Points will be redeemed by submitting a receipt to the SJD for items purchased as stated above. SJD will then reimburse judge.

The deadline for redeeming points earned will be 10 days after last day of GAT 2008 (Receipts Must be received by September 12, 2008). GAT signifies the end of the "Points" year. Points earned after GAT may be used on expenses for the new year and cannot be used for "last year's" expenses.
